Looking for alternative wedding ideas that break the mould? This emo skater wedding styled shoot brings rebellious energy, creative expression, and edgy romance to the heart of Chelmsford city centre — and proves that your big day can (and should) reflect your real vibe.
A Skater Wedding Styled Shoot with Serious Attitude
This shoot is for the couples who grew up on skate culture and eyeliner, who find beauty in graffiti walls and punk soundtracks. Taking place at an actual skate park during Chelmsford's graffiti festival, this styled wedding proves you can turn any space into a wedding venue — as long as it speaks to your story.
Real couple Lauren and Tom starred in this industrial dream, blending raw romance with emo edge. Lauren wore a killer slit gown from Lucy Can’t Dance, styled with boots and glitter socks, while Tom rocked ASOS menswear, Vans, and a skateboard like a groom who’s never followed the rules.
Alternative Wedding Florals for the Non-Traditional Couple
Florals came courtesy of me, The Copper Cacti, with a showstopping bouquet of king protea, deep burgundy amaranthus, and heaps of textured foliage. Bold, untamed, and wildly romantic — exactly how alternative wedding flowers should be.
Set against concrete walls and dripping spray paint, the bouquet added a lush contrast and brought in a sense of curated chaos. Perfect for couples wanting something unpredictably beautiful.
Urban Wedding Photography with Edge
Captured by Chloe Lee Photography, every shot is dripping with cool. From the close-up of Lauren’s fierce gaze to the wide shots showing off the urban surroundings and graffiti art, Chloe nailed the balance of editorial edge and intimate connection.
These aren’t just wedding portraits — they’re art.
Hair, Makeup & Styling That Hits Different
Vicky Jiggins worked her hair and makeup magic, combining soft retro waves with bold lips and clean skin. The look was both glam and grunge, elevating Lauren’s bridal vibe while staying completely authentic to the emo-skater aesthetic.
Why You Should Plan a Wedding That Looks Like You
This shoot was more than pretty pictures — it was a reminder that your wedding should be unapologetically yours.

Want to get married in a skate park? Do it.
Love tattoos, punk music, or street art? Bring it into your day.
Whether it’s your outfit, flowers, or the venue itself — it’s your story to tell.
This is your permission slip to skip the chair covers and create a wedding that feels as badass as your love.
